ESMA (the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology) has updated its guidelines for product labelling on imported consumer and industrial goods. Non-compliance is one of the most common causes of customs holds in the UAE.

**Arabic Language Requirement** All consumer-facing products must include Arabic-language labelling that meets minimum content requirements including product name, country of origin, manufacturer details, and expiry dates where applicable.
